Just to let any and all know, I solved the problem but in a roundabout way. Windows 7 32 bit installs fine, but 64 bit fails when expanding files.. I did clean out a lot of crap it came with so I *MAY* have messed with something (although was pretty careful, and didn't delete anything I didn't know what it I was in the middle of trying to update a graphics driver and ended up getting my computer into a state where it wouldn't boot.
